Restaurant Manager

Full time (45 hours) · Chogogo Dive & Beach Resort Bonaire

Running a beachfront restaurant on Bonaire: for some it sounds like a dream, for you it sounds like Tuesday. As Restaurant Manager at Chogogo Dive & Beach Resort, you take ownership of the daily restaurant operation and lead a team that turns every dinner into a highlight of our guests' vacation.

 

About the role

You are the driving force behind the restaurant. You lead the supervisors and service team, keep quality and atmosphere at the highest level and make sure the operation runs smoothly, from scheduling and purchasing to the financial closing of the day. You work closely with the F&B Manager, Head Chef and Sous Chef, and you step up as the responsible manager whenever the F&B Manager is away.

 

What you will do

  • Lead the Restaurant Supervisors and service team and ensure efficient teamwork on the floor

  • Create the schedules in Dyflexis and plan the supervisor meetings every two weeks

  • Train and coach new team members, from runners and bar staff to new supervisors

  • Welcome guests, monitor service quality and speed and resolve complaints with care

  • Maintain supplier contact and manage purchasing and inventory together with the F&B Manager

  • Keep track of reservations, mailboxes and guest reviews in consultation with the F&B Manager

  • Prepare the daily planning, including task distribution and break schedules

  • Guard cleanliness, ambiance, music and safety standards (HACCP) throughout the restaurant

  • Open and close the restaurant and take care of the daily financial closing

  • Manage staffing levels during service, scaling up or down as the evening develops

  • Handle administration such as sick leave registration, clocking and delivery processing
